Jane was talking, in her email today, about analog activities, Julia Cameron’s Artist Dates and how we’re all being hamstrung by algorithms - which, ultimately, will lead to an increasingly limited pool in which AI can fish.
Back in the day, GIGO was a thing. Garbage in, garbage out. I think it related to programming. BBC computers anyone? But it remains true in many contexts.
AI is only as good as the material and knowledge it consumes. It’s likely that a lot of that comes from reasonable sources but what about all the social media slop? The stuff that many of us spend time blocking or attempting to retrain the algorithm.
It’s a point to ponder.
