June turned into an unexpected pare back. One project came to an end. I decided to relinquish a couple of others, the kind of letting go that arrives before you've quite decided to do it. Somewhere in the middle of all that, I changed my mind about continuing to offer web hosting to a handful of clients.
My hosting renews early next year. I'd been in two minds about carrying on with it for a while - once the other endings started, it was obvious where it belonged. Onto the list of things to stop doing.
That's set off a wider tidy up. I've been hunting for new email and website hosting for us. Chris still needs some kind of web presence. We still need email, obviously. I've set several domains not to renew, which will leave us with four, including this one. Not all of them have email attached.
Carrd is winning for a simple one page site. Proton for email. It's the same story as everything else I've been paring back lately - the choice always comes down to something simple to set up, low maintenance, low cost if possible, but effective.
